ruse is the name taken by Russell Pearce. Starting as a feedback obsessed guitarist, Russell has moved away from traditional instrumentation to working primarily with captured sounds to develop a palate of sounds which open up the listener to the potent sounds which surround them every day. Some are familiar, some are treated, and some are captured from sources which are not naturally available to the ear. These become the elements used to describe the connections we establish to the inanimate, the functional, and those causal aspects of life which we take for granted, but which have only been with us for the last few generations.

Though purely soundscapes, what may on the surface appear cold, is really a positive vision of hope and improvement, in a world becoming obsessed with fear and disease.
